Canberra in Spring

(belated post)
After returning to Australia for the first time since Easter, it had been a long time since catching up with my girlfriend who is studying in Canberra.
I made a trip up there for the weekend and spent much time relaxing and catching up on much missed time together.

It was also probably the first real spring day of the season, here the blossoms (including my girlfriend) on the shores of Lake Burnley Griffin.

Home via England

Before heading back to Australia, I spent a week seeing family and friends around England.
First stop was the 2008 European Capital of Culture - Liverpool. Pictured here is a series of locks linking the Liverpool-Leeds Canal to the River Mersey.


Then further north to Cumbria. Here is Carlisle Castle.

and finally down to London where I had a great day with a group of friends for a spontaneous afternoon trip south to Kent. Below is another castle - Leeds Castle, Kent.

As I post this, I am safely back in my home town of Melbourne.
