Warnambool

Had some time off around Christmas and New Year, so after the Christmas festivities, my girlfriend and I headed off to Warnambool with some of her friends for a couple of nights. After driving down there in the evening, I thought I would get to bed early, not so - note to self: Tequila is evil, why oh why don't we learn. Managed to recover eventually the next day and went down to the foreshore and saw the show Shipwrecked at the Flagstaff Hill Maritime museum.

Warnambool Botanic Gardens - surprisingly green considering everything else around. They use bore water for watering.

Auckland

(belated post 8/1/07)

Never been to New Zealand, but in the month of December I got to go there twice with work. First thing I noticed was how green it was. Didn't get to do much sightseeing, I was only there for a few days at a time. Will be heading back there this year to continue on the project there. Other than the change in scenery - large mountains, rock formations, different trees, not much varies between Australia and New Zealand. Auckland feels a bit like Adelaide in size. Pictured above is the view of Auckland harbour from the hotel - the window didn't face the Sky Tower which is the most prominent landmark. Hope to do some more sightseeing in this beautiful country in 2007.
