The addictive game

When I was much younger, I asked why was soccer so popular overseas. It's so low scoring compared to any other sport and you have to wait for ages until somebody gets a goal.
Now that I have a team to support, that being Australia in the world cup, I can see why this game is so popular. What other game can the possible outcome of a game, or a team in a series change so quickly, therefore becoming very exiting.

I was kicking myself that I turned off the Australia-Japan game at half time when they were 1-0 down, only to score 3 goals in the last 10 minutes. For the game this morning against Croatia, I watched the second half (since it started at 5am). What a game... even though we drew it was thrilling to watch - and what's with 3 yellow cards in a match?? Thank goodness he didn't play part in scoring a goal.
